First post,first review.

I want to write something so I write a review. Today will be an anime review. I will review Macross episode 1. Now you may know Macross by another name, the name Robotech. Adapted by Carl Macek in the 1980's it was one the first anime's in the states that was really had a good dub for the time. Okay so they changed the script big whoop the only way to get it to air stateside was to cut out a lot the sexual innuendo and blood , so lets just consider it a bit of a necessary demon, and besides it was a good series for a cartoon show in the 80's. Anyway I will be reviewing the dud and I will also be making comparisons to robotech.

Episode 1: 4 out of 5
Okay lets begin shall we, the episode was solid and very fun. the english actors do a pretty fine job, and seem like a lot of them are bringing their b-game. The anime is going for a tone subtle so far, since this a romantic anime as well a war one this adds a little more depth to what could be a rather by the numbers mecha anime. I must say the now famous bridge bunnies are a hoot, Roy seems like a nice fun character, also Hikaru a fine protagonist. The space battles are also veru beautiful in a 1980's kind of way and we also get full use of the Macross Missile Massacre. So I like it ,but the the sup rise at the end of the episode(If you seen this series you know what I'm talking about) would be more effective if the company used the original opening for the episode which doesn't spoil it. Anyway I also have troubles with this dub because of the translations issues the use "sempai" in English which really sounds awkward and really glaring. Otherwise it is nice episode that sets up the coming conflicts and also the upcoming romance.
